Dragonfly launches Pu'er Tea

Following increasing interest in the brew's reputed health benefits, connoisseur tea company Dragonfly has introduced its own Pu'er Tea brand.

Said to aid digestion after meals, reduce cholesterol and even increase the metabolism to reduce weight, Pu'er tea - with its intriguing, strong, earthy, slightly sweet taste - has been prized since the Chinese Tang Dynasty more than 1000 years ago.

The tea grows in the Yunnan province of south west China and is processed into 'cakes' - large or small discs or bowl shapes - which were considered so valuable in the past that they were used as currency.

Today the cakes are bought speculatively as they are said to improve with age like fine wine or malt whisky, although Dragonfly Pu'er Tea can be obtained in both Premium and Organic variants in the rather more manageable form of packs of 25 sachets of 2g each.

Commenting on the new addition to the company's range, Dragonfly Chairman Bruce Ginsberg says: "With consumer interest in healthier options growing exponentially, Pu'er Tea offers real health benefits coupled with a delicious, full-bodied tea."
